    She Had the Numbers—But Still No Promotion. Then She Made This Mindset Shift

    For Zorayda “Dada” Rosanes, Associate Financial Planner and now Executive Vice Chairman at International Marketing Group (IMG), success didn’t come in the way she first imagined.

    In the early years of her career in financial education, Dada hit a surprising plateau. She and her husband were already hitting their targets—meeting the required points to qualify for IMG’s top promotion. But something was missing.

    “We kept on getting the point requirements,” she told Financial Adviser PH. “But we could not be promoted because we were not able to achieve the required number of SMDs.”

    That’s when the realization struck: advancement wasn’t just about hitting numbers—it was about lifting others, too.

    “It was then that we realized that we need to help our teammates achieve their goals to achieve ours as well,” she said. “In IMG, you can achieve your goals by helping others achieve their goals first. We are lifted up by lifting others.”

    It was a mindset shift that changed everything. Instead of pushing only toward her own milestones, Dada began focusing on mentoring and building up the people around her. She started equipping her team with the tools, systems, and support they needed to succeed on their own terms.

    That shift didn’t just unlock the next promotion—it unlocked a leadership philosophy rooted in empowerment, trust, and collaboration.

    “Leadership is all about fostering trust, inspiring growth, and creating an environment where every individual feels valued,” she shared.

    By turning the spotlight from personal achievement to team development, Dada found that her own growth accelerated. Promotions followed. Impact grew. And the mission of spreading financial literacy reached more communities through the leaders she helped build.

    For aspiring leaders and entrepreneurs, her advice is clear: don’t climb alone. “We are lifted up by lifting others.”

    In an industry that’s often competitive and numbers-driven, Dada’s journey proves that sustainable success isn’t just about pushing yourself forward—it’s about pulling others up with you.
