Why This CEO Is Betting Big on Sustainability Culture and Regenerative Transformation

In a business landscape where buzzwords like “ESG” and “sustainability” are everywhere, Jun Roy is doing more than just talking about them—he’s building a future around them.

Roy, a Certified Management Consultant and the CEO of the Regenerative Transformation Institute, believes that sustainability culture and regenerative transformation are no longer optional—they are essential to the future of leadership, business, and society.

“These are still emerging concepts in the Philippines,” Roy told Financial Adviser, “but they’re exactly where organizations need to focus if they want to stay relevant and impactful in a changing world.”

Roy’s consulting firm focuses on helping leaders and companies not only improve performance but also align their cultures with long-term, human-centered goals. This includes embedding sustainability into strategy and creating what he calls “regenerative cultures”—environments that do more than sustain; they restore, uplift, and innovate continuously.

“Clients need fresh perspectives and innovative ways of creating value and solving their business challenges,” he said. “For me, I’m trying to carve a niche in Sustainability Culture and Regenerative Transformation.”

Roy’s approach is both strategic and deeply human. While many consultants focus on systems or profits, he emphasizes values, leadership mindset, and purpose-driven growth. “Transformation must be both strategic and human-centered,” he explained. “It’s not just about what companies do, but who they are and how they treat people, communities, and the planet.”

To keep pace with global developments, Roy commits to constant learning. One example: “When the new ISO IWA 48:2024 came out—which is the guidance document on implementing ESG—I deep-dived into learning extensively about the standard,” he said.

He also draws insight from his global network. “My mentee from Uganda introduced me to an important social issue on period poverty or menstrual justice, which I didn’t realize existed,” Roy shared. “It changed how I view inclusive sustainability.”

Through his work, Roy is pushing organizations to move beyond compliance and trend-chasing—to adopt a mindset of regeneration and long-term value.

His message to leaders? Don’t wait for mandates or crises. Lead the way now.

“If you want to stay relevant, you have to build credibility around what truly matters. And right now, what matters is helping organizations become more humane, more sustainable, and more forward-looking.”
