When most investors look at charts, they see numbers, price bars, and trendlines. Dr. Gema Goeyardi sees something more—cosmic rhythms, Fibonacci cycles, and planetary alignments that, when combined, reveal the timing of market turns.
As the founder and CEO of Astronacci International in Indonesia, Goeyardi shared these insights in an exclusive interview with Financial Adviser PH during an event organized by the Society of Technical Analysts (STA) Philippines. He has built his career around a method that blends astrology, Fibonacci analysis, Elliott Wave theory, and macro fundamentals into what he calls 4-Dimensional Analysis.
Unlike conventional strategies that focus only on what to buy or where to buy it, Astronacci also answers the most elusive question in investing: when.
From Painful Losses to a New Method
Goeyardi’s journey began in 2007, when he first learned technical analysis and joined a bullish Indonesian market. Everything seemed straightforward—until the 2008 crash.
“I didn’t realize the market had already turned, nor did I know when the decline would end,” he recalled. “As a result, I nearly lost all of my capital.”
That painful episode forced him to ask: What went wrong? The missing link, he concluded, was time. Prices showed him where the market was, but not when reversals would happen. His search led him to W.D. Gann, the legendary trader who used time cycles and astrology, and to J.P. Morgan’s famous quote: “Millionaires don’t use astrology, billionaires do.”
Inspired, Goeyardi began combining Astrology with Fibonacci and Elliott Wave principles. The result was Astronacci, a forecasting system that integrates macro fundamentals (why), intrinsic valuation (what), technical analysis (where), and astrological cycles (when)
What Exactly Is Astronacci?
At its core, Astronacci is a fusion of Astrology and Fibonacci. Traditional technical analysis can identify support and resistance zones, but Astronacci seeks to predict timing windows—the periods when price is most likely to reverse.
The framework relies on what Goeyardi calls 4-Dimensional Analysis:
Why: Macro economy fundamentals, guiding asset class and country selection.
What: Valuation work to find assets worth buying.
Where: Technical analysis to pinpoint entry and exit levels.
When: Astronacci cycles—based on lunar phases, planetary alignments, and Fibonacci time counts—that identify likely turning points
This last dimension, Goeyardi argues, is what most investors miss. “If only I had known when the market would crash and when it would recover, I could have avoided being trapped,” he said of his 2008 experience.
Forecasting the Philippine Stock Market
Astronacci has been applied widely in Indonesia’s Jakarta Composite Index (JCI), but Goeyardi sees strong relevance for the Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) as well.
His current outlook: the PSEi is likely to move sideways with a downward bias in the near term. Global uncertainties and local challenges are weighing on sentiment. Based on Astronacci cycles, volatility tends to spike around new moon and full moon phases, which historically align with major reversals.
Goeyardi places key support around 5,900, a level that could provide a floor before a recovery later in the year. Fibonacci projections also highlight mid-year and year-end as critical “inflection windows”
Lunar and Planetary Turning Points
One of Astronacci’s most striking claims is its reliance on cosmic cycles.
“The PSEi carries around a 78% probability of reversal during new moon and full moon phases,” Goeyardi explained. “Beyond lunar cycles, planetary aspects like Sun 90° Mars show an even stronger reversal probability—around 88%.”
Indeed, he cites examples:
July 25, 2025 (New Moon) saw a market reversal.
August 11, 2025 (Full Moon) showed a similar shift.
Sun 90° Mars aspects on March 16, 2023 and October 14, 2024 both corresponded with significant reversals
For traders, these dates become tactical windows—opportunities to plan entries, trim positions, or set tighter stops. While many investors may be skeptical, Goeyardi insists the data speaks for itself. “These cyclical windows act as natural markers for shifts in market sentiment and momentum,” he said.
What Investors Should Watch
For the months ahead, Goeyardi highlights several Astronacci indicators that deserve close attention. Beyond the broad macro picture, he advises monitoring support and resistance zones, price action behavior, and most importantly, timing signals.
“The simplest but most powerful tools are Full Moon and New Moon dates,” he said. “They historically serve as natural markers of potential market reversals.” In addition, Astronacci research underscores the importance of the Sun 90° Mars aspect, which has not only been effective in predicting market-wide reversals but also in individual stocks such as SM Investments and ICTSI
Key Sectors and Stocks
Astronacci’s outlook for the Philippine market isn’t just about timing—it also considers which sectors are best positioned.
Banking: With interest rates expected to ease, net interest margins could improve. Watch for MBT, BPI, EW, and SECB.
Consumer and Retail: Growth in e-commerce and robust domestic demand benefits names like Puregold (PGOLD) and Jollibee Foods (JFC).
Infrastructure and Construction: Government “Build Better More” projects continue to drive demand.
Renewables: Companies like AC Energy (ACEN) and First Gen (FGEN) are poised to benefit from the clean energy shift.
Technology & Telecom: Globe (GLO) and PLDT (TEL) remain critical to the digital transformation story
Global Signals in a Local Market
Astronacci doesn’t operate in a vacuum—it translates global macro signals into a Philippine context.
U.S. markets act as lead indicators. Astronacci tracks their cycles and aligns them with Philippine “watch windows.”
Interest rates are also crucial. Fed decisions are aligned with BSP policy reviews, with planetary cycles such as Jupiter–Saturn used to anticipate liquidity shifts that affect local banking and property sectors.
Geopolitical and commodity shocks—especially oil and gold—are also captured through astro-signatures tied to volatility. These are then reflected into local-sensitive sectors like energy imports, consumer prices, and exporters
Practical Guidance for Investors
For ordinary investors, Astronacci offers three main benefits:
Timing: Anticipating tops and bottoms before they happen.
Risk Management: Getting out before sharp declines.
Opportunities: Identifying early accumulation phases
But Goeyardi stresses that Astronacci is not a replacement for fundamentals or technicals—it is a complement. “Rather than replacing traditional analysis, Astronacci provides the missing piece: timing,” he said.
This means investors can still rely on fundamental screens to find quality companies and technicals for trend direction, but Astronacci adds a powerful overlay for precision in timing entries and exits
Advice for Filipino Investors
Asked what his advice is for Filipino investors facing today’s uncertain markets, Goeyardi emphasizes discipline above all else:
Plan before you trade: Always have a clear strategy to avoid emotional decisions.
Protect your capital: Apply strict money and risk management.
Keep learning: Markets are dynamic; staying updated and adaptable is key
A Different Way of Seeing the Market
Skeptics may dismiss astrology as superstition, but Goeyardi frames Astronacci as simply another lens—a way of interpreting cycles that exist in nature and, by extension, in financial markets. By combining it with rigorous fundamentals and technicals, he believes investors can navigate uncertainty with greater confidence.
“In the end, it’s about managing risk and finding the right timing,” he said. “The market is not just about price; it’s also about time. If you can master both, you gain a real edge.”
