Alyana Gutierrez wasn’t actively searching for a certification when she came across the Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) program on LinkedIn—but it turned out to be exactly what she needed.
“I first came across the CHRP program in the Philippines while browsing through LinkedIn,” she told Financial Adviser PH. “As I was exploring professional development opportunities, I noticed discussions and posts highlighting the program’s value in advancing HR expertise.”
At the time, Alyana had already been working in a dual capacity—as an Officer for Legal Services and Human Capital Management at the Guanzon Group of Companies. Most of her knowledge in HR came from real-world experience, particularly in employee relations, legal compliance, and organizational processes. But she felt the need for a more structured foundation to match the complexity of her role.
“While learning along the way provided valuable insights, I recognized the importance of structured education in HR to refine my skills, enhance my decision-making, and build a solid foundation for long-term growth,” she explained.
Pursuing CHRP became more than just a professional milestone—it became a turning point. The certification helped her align her practical experience with best practices in strategic HR management.
“Earning CHRP allowed me to deepen my understanding of best practices in HR, refine my approach to people management, and ensure that I am equipped with the latest industry knowledge,” she said.
It also gave her the confidence and clarity to take on more strategic responsibilities. “Understanding HR through a structured framework has allowed me to approach workforce management with a more effective, efficient, and holistic perspective,” Alyana added.
The impact of the program didn’t just stay on paper—it translated into real organizational value. She was able to implement more structured, compliant, and people-focused systems that supported both employee well-being and the company’s growth goals.
The CHRP program, she said, didn’t just give her a certification. It gave her a lens to see her role differently—and tools to lead with even greater impact.
