For over a decade, Nazarea Mira, a Certified HR Professional, built her career in the call center industry—rising through the ranks, mastering operations, and leading teams in high-pressure environments. A stable path was already paved. But in 2018, one unexpected opportunity shifted everything—and revealed a new calling she didn’t know she had.
“It wasn’t planned—but I believe I was being prepared for this all along,” Nazarea shared in an interview with Financial Adviser PH.
Today, she’s the Managing Director of JustHired, a fast-rising recruitment firm that’s making waves for its human-first approach to hiring. Her journey is a powerful example of how reinvention often begins with one bold move—and a willingness to follow where growth leads.
From Call Center to Career Catalyst
Nazarea never set out to work in Human Resources. Her early years were grounded in customer service and operations—fields that demanded structure, discipline, and people skills, but not formal recruitment.
That changed when she relocated to India in 2018. She was offered a position by a recruitment firm operating across India and the Philippines. It was a leap into the unknown.
“It was completely unexpected,” she told Financial Adviser PH,
“but I discovered a passion I didn’t know I had—helping people unlock opportunities and helping businesses find the talent that drives their success.”
Reinvention Starts With a Shift in Perspective
What began as a career detour became a deeper mission. Nazarea found herself drawn to the heart of recruitment—not just as a process, but as a purpose.
“So many capable individuals get overlooked because their stories don’t shine through on a resume,” she said.
“I wanted to be the kind of recruiter who sees the person behind the profile.”
That mindset would later shape the core of JustHired, the company she built from the ground up.
From Instinct to Strategic Leadership
Starting over in a new country taught her humility and adaptability, but leading her own firm stretched her further. She had to grow fast—balancing client demands, managing her team, and defining a company culture rooted in empathy and excellence.
“At first, I relied mostly on instinct,” she explained during her Financial Adviser PH interview.
“But I knew I needed to back that up with structure, strategy, and deeper HR expertise.”
To sharpen her credibility and elevate the company, she eventually pursued professional training and certification—a decision that gave her both confidence and clarity.
What Her Journey Means for Anyone Rethinking Their Career
Nazarea’s story is a timely reminder that career pivots aren’t about abandoning your past—they’re about building on it. Her previous roles in operations helped her become a better recruiter, leader, and business owner.
Her advice to professionals considering a shift?
“Your past doesn’t limit your future—it equips you for it. Every role teaches you something that prepares you for the next chapter,” she said to Financial Adviser PH.
