Elizabeth Enriquez-Cruz has seen her HR career go through cycles of scale, stress, and strategic change. Once managing HR and administration across 10 companies with nearly 500 employees, she now leads two organizations with a lean team of 30 staff—but her commitment hasn’t wavered. In fact, she’s using this new chapter to retool, refocus, and reimagine what the HR profession means in a changing world.
“I am currently an HR and Admin Manager for Ali Iskandar Al Ansari and Sons Company,” Elizabeth shared with Financial Adviser PH. “Due to the drastic change in economic situation, I’m now handling fewer employees, but I also take care of family documents and international visas for my employer.”
Her career story is one of resilience and range—from organizational transformation to deeply personal service. In every role, she brings a mix of structure, heart, and an eagerness to grow.
Thriving Through Change
Now a Certified Human Resource Professional, Elizabeth’s journey as an HR leader began unexpectedly, with no formal HR training. Over time, she rose to manage an expansive portfolio, earning the trust of both local and international teams. But when the company restructured, downsized, and redistributed responsibilities, she adapted quickly—streamlining systems, staying engaged, and finding new ways to contribute value.
The shift didn’t slow her down. It sharpened her focus.
“I still work on everything HR/Admin related,” she said. “And even if the number of people I manage has decreased, the depth of my responsibilities has not.”
Passion for People—Still at the Center
Despite her evolving job scope, Elizabeth remains passionate about recruitment and employee relations—especially the human connection behind each decision.
“The HR area I’m most passionate about is recruitment and employee relations,” she said. “Although sometimes, when I get stressed, I feel chest pains,” she joked with a laugh.
But beneath the humor lies a real commitment to employee welfare, mediation, and fairness. “For me, the most fulfilling part of being an HR professional is being a mediator between employee and employer,” she explained. “I listen to the employees’ issues and relay them to management. Most of the time, it results in a good outcome—like approving requests and giving humanitarian benefits according to Qatar Labour Law.”
Embracing the Future
Even with decades of experience, Elizabeth isn’t content to rely on what she already knows. She sees AI—artificial intelligence—as both a challenge and an opportunity.
“I find AI to be one HR trend that is exciting and challenging,” she said. “I hope I can find time to learn it.”
Her openness to innovation reflects a mindset that sets her apart: growth isn’t age-bound or title-bound. Even as she nears retirement, Elizabeth is determined to keep learning and adapting—just like she always has.
More Than a Job
Beyond her HR duties, Elizabeth’s work includes assisting her employer’s household with documentation and visa applications. It’s a testament to the trust she’s earned, the versatility she’s built, and the deep loyalty that defines her relationship with her company.
Her story proves that HR isn’t just about policies—it’s about people, perseverance, and purpose.
