Careers often evolve in unexpected ways, but for Ella Cacacho, a Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP), the path into human resources was guided by a passion for people and a desire to create meaningful change in organizations. With a background in Psychology, she was drawn to the intersection of human behavior and business performance. What began as an entry-level role turned into a decade-long journey defined by growth, leadership, and purpose.

Early Years – Building the Foundation

Cacacho entered the HR profession in 2015 as a Recruitment Specialist at Wilcon Depot. The experience taught her the fundamentals of sourcing, screening, and managing candidates—skills that required precision, patience, and empathy. “Recruitment is not just about filling roles—it’s about building futures for both the candidate and the company,” she reflects.

Her career then expanded at Ventureslink Management Solutions, where she moved from Recruitment Officer to Marketing Manager. This unique combination of HR and marketing exposed her to the power of employer branding and showed how recruitment strategies could be aligned with business growth. It was here that she began developing a more innovative, strategic approach to HR.

    Rising Into Leadership

Cacacho’s next chapters brought her into senior leadership roles. At Peso Resources Development Corporation, she became Talent Acquisition Manager, directly reporting to the President and CEO. She designed sustainable pipelines, launched sourcing campaigns, and applied data-driven methods to solve difficult hiring challenges.

Later, at Benby Enterprises Inc., she continued as Talent Acquisition Manager, leading recruitment while also shaping employer branding, partnering with universities, and refining candidate experiences. Each role reinforced her belief that talent acquisition is not simply about filling vacancies but about influencing the long-term trajectory of organizations.

Today, she serves as Recruitment Manager at People Serve Multi-Purpose Cooperative, where she leads a team in aligning recruitment policies with business goals. She also mentors young professionals, guiding them to grow while ensuring the cooperative attracts the right talent. “What fulfills me most is helping others advance while building strategies that drive organizational success,” she says.

    The CHRP Turning Point

A key milestone came when Cacacho pursued the CHRP credential. At the time, she was also completing her master’s in industrial psychology, and the program complemented her academic training with practical frameworks and credibility. “It wasn’t just a certification—it was a commitment to continuous learning and professional excellence,” she explains.

Becoming CHRP transformed her career. It enhanced her confidence, broadened her perspective, and positioned her for leadership opportunities where her insights carried more influence. The certification also connected her to a wider professional community, giving her access to valuable networks and resources that reinforced her people-first approach.

A Leadership Style Rooted in Service

Throughout her journey, Cacacho has anchored her leadership on respect, kindness, and servant leadership. She believes in lifting others, listening deeply, and putting people first before authority. “True leadership is about serving before leading,” she says. That philosophy informs how she mentors her team, collaborates with peers, and helps shape positive workplace cultures.

For her, human resources is not just a profession but a calling. She sees talent acquisition and people management as opportunities to create environments where employees feel valued, supported, and inspired to succeed.

    Looking Ahead

After a decade in the field, Cacacho remains committed to growth—both her own and that of the people she leads. The challenges of modern HR, from digital transformation to evolving workforce expectations, only strengthen her drive to adapt and innovate.

“HR is about more than compliance—it’s about shaping cultures of trust, respect, and growth,” she emphasizes. Guided by her values and fueled by continuous learning, Ella Cacacho’s story demonstrates how a career built on service and empathy can create a lasting impact on both people and organizations.
