For Alyana Gutierrez, HR goes far beyond contracts, compliance, and policies. It’s about making a real difference—both inside and outside the workplace.
“What truly made me appreciate my role even more was recognizing that HR serves as a bridge—not just between employees and management, but also between the organization and the community,” she told Financial Adviser PH.
While her day-to-day responsibilities include legal services and people management, Alyana’s most meaningful experiences came when HR became a tool for social impact.
One defining moment was her involvement in Bag of Hope, a company-wide donation drive that provides school supplies to children—with 50% of the funding coming directly from employees.
“It highlighted this connection for me,” she said. “Through programs that promote social responsibility, I discovered that HR isn’t just about policies and processes—it’s about people, purpose, and making a difference.”
As Legal Services and Human Capital Management Officer at the Guanzon Group of Companies, Alyana views corporate social responsibility (CSR) as integral to the company’s values—and to her role as an HR professional.
“At Guanzon Group, we believe in unlocking potential—helping individuals grow and succeed within the organization,” she said. “This philosophy resonated deeply with me.”
Alyana’s approach to HR merges structure with empathy. Navigating employment policies, supporting employee development, and fostering culture are part of her daily work—but it’s the bigger picture that motivates her.
Through CSR-driven initiatives and a commitment to ethical leadership, Alyana continues to shape a workplace culture that values both professional growth and social good.
Her story is a reminder that HR is more than an internal department—it’s a platform for purpose, capable of extending impact far beyond the office walls.
